Call to Discipleship
Pastor Capaci
Choir Ready Room

The theme verse for Gospel Light Baptist Church in 2012 is I Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” Over the next ten weeks, we are going to discover how we can better equip ourselves to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ in order to obey His command of making disciples of all nations. It is our vision at Gospel Light Baptist Church to commit ourselves to the path of making disciples. In doing this I believe we can see real revival and great prayer awakening as we live out the purpose for which God has called His church to accomplish. This will be an exciting ten weeks together as we continue to fulfill the vision that God has given us: to capture this city for Christ.

Keepers at Home
Annette Sepe
Room 219

Titus 2:5 gives women the responsibility and privilege to be the one who changes a house into a home; makes it a haven of refuge from the world and its harmful influences, a sanctuary of peace and rest, as well as a place of love and laughter for the family. “Keepers at Home” is a class that will provide practical teaching while giving opportunity for hands-on experience in the areas: of decorating, entertaining, and cooking. In addition, Penelope’s Pointers will offer tidbits each week to make life easier and more efficient in various housekeeping proficiencies. Woven throughout the course will be the realization that the woman is the spirit of the home, and through His Word that spirit will be fulfilled in the heart of each student.

Single (18 – 25 years old
Luke & Desiree Chittum
Darrin & Tiffany McKittrick
Room 123

A time of Biblical study while connecting with single Christians.

Being at Home with Jesus Christ
Charlie Shaw
Room 229

Christ did not command us to “do” a list of things for Him or for God. Rather, He told us simply to “abide in Him,” which means to remain in Christ. What does that look like in the life of a Christ-follower? We will discover that God is most interested in our developing the intimate relationship with Him that He asked us to…and that as our heart is transformed, the outward actions of our lives will naturally follow.

Relationships
Carolann Capaci
Room 210

Life is made up of relationships.  I have found that most of our problems have to do with handling relationship issues.  With all the stress that life puts on our relationships, we need to know from the Bible how to handle each of them.   Throughout the BSF we will have different ladies speak on the various relationships in our life and how to Biblically treat these situations.  Whether you are facing problems now or not, believe me they will come.  It starts with our relationship with God.....if our relationship with God is not correct; it often causes our other relationships to suffer.  Come be a part of the class that I believe will help to strengthen every relationship in our life.

Literacy: Active Engagement for God's Glory
Reba Powers
Room 212

Streams of social media fill our screens constantly. Like the pull of gravity keeping us in our seats, our attraction to these screens intrudes on our lives and robs us of the time to meaningfully engage in authentic language. This class will embrace the pragmatic uses of language as revealed in Scripture to possess the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:15-16). Join us as we grow as readers and writers.

Teen Bible Study

Mike & Sherri Simmons – Sr. High

Each week, teens will explore how to more faithfully live the Christian life by applying the truths of God’s Word.

The Seven Pillars of Wisdom
Jeff Lines

Proverbs 9:1, “Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars.” In these lessons we will examine in depth the value of true wisdom and how one can obtain it. Proverbs 4:7, “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” According to Proverbs, Wisdom is the first and foremost thing. Truths are simple, yet profound.
